Dödsolycka vid Mont Blanc

Från Kilian Jornets facebook kom för en stund sedan sorgliga nyheten att Stephane Brosse omkommit i en olycka under ett försök att korsa Mont Blanc-massivet. Det skulle bli den första delen av Kilians projekt Summits of my life.

Från Kilians facebook-uppdatering:

"We regret to announce that during the attempt of the Mont Blanc crossing by Kilian and Stéphane Brosse this morning, Stéphane lost his life in an unfortunate accident. In these difficult times, Kilian is well physically and is devoting all his energies to support the family and friends. In the upcoming days he will issue an official statement. Thank you for your understanding and support. Kilian team."

Uppdatering: Olyckan inträffade på 3900 meters höjd på l'aiguille d'Argentière när en lavin drog med sig Stephane Brosse vid passering av en ravin (couloir). Trots att Kilian och de andra i sällskapet omedelbart tillkallade hjälp och bergsräddarna ryckte ut med helikopter kunde inte Stephanes liv räddas.
